The purpose of this event is to help promote healthy eating while raising money for the Mix it Up! campaign, Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Chefs representing 10 units were competing against each other by cooking up some tasty entrees and desserts using fruit and vegetables.

Starting next Wednesday, March 7, once a month SOCIETY Dining Lounge in Yaletown, part of the Glowbal Group, will be hosting a Movie Night. Last week, we were invited to a sneak preview to not only learn more about this event, but also to provide some feedback to help them work out some kinks before the public viewing next week.

When I say apples, you may think of the fall season. This mentality should change. Apples, depending on the variety, are now available almost year round – from September/October to somewhere between March and June. In fact, BC Tree Fruits, the largest apple producer of local apples in Western BC, is celebrating Apple Month in February!

Last summer I went to O’Doul’s for a bachelorette party during the Jazz Festival and quite enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Planning a date night with Mr. during Dine Out, O’Doul’s menu caught my eyes with items that were slightly out of the norm, so we went there on a Friday night.
