The Vancouver Fish Company has opened its door since September 2014. Located right at the entrance of the Granville Island, this seafood restaurant has been using Ocean Wise ingredients but only just recently that it has officially signed on as an Ocean Wise partner. And to celebrate, it's running its first ever Ocean Wise Festival and I was invited for a tasting of the menu.
I recently (OK, maybe not that recently) had the opportunity to attend a release event for a new beer from Central City - Sour Brown I Barrel Aged Sour Ale - the first in what will become an expansive Sour program, including upcoming Sour Red, Kreik, and Framboise releases. I’m a pretty big fan of sours, so I approached this release with no small amount of expectation.
The Vancouver International Wine Festival 2016 Tasting Room had, in my mind, great potential to be the best I have experienced to date. Why? One word…Italy! Yes, the romantic, bold and fabulous world of Italian wines was featured at this year’s wine fest.
