Congratulations to White Spot on raising over $40,000 last Wednesday through the sales of Pirate Paks. You can read the official media release here. We're glad to have participated and truly enjoyed our Adult Paks. In fact we went as far as customizing our own Pirate Paks.
[Wines] Wine Tasting at Seasons in QE Park
Last Tuesday, VanFoodies was invited to the "Treats for Tweeters" event at the Seasons Restaurant in Queen Elizabeth Park. It's its bi-weekly wine tasting, but this one was exclusively for some tweeters, bloggers and foodies.
[Wines] Touring Fort Wine Co., Domaine de Chaberton and Township 7
Last year I attended Tourism Vancouver's Open House and entered its door prize draw. I was later notified that I was the lucky winner of a local winery tour, courtesy of A.E. Vancouver Private Tours. Earlier this summer, I redeemed the prize and went on a private tour, visiting three local wineries in Langley. Here is a photoblog of the tour, along with my personal favourites.
Trees Organic Coffee & Cheesecakes (Granville St.)
The first time I walked by the Trees Organic on Granville, the awning that reads "Best Cheesecake in Vancouver" immediately caught my attention. After some research, it was the Province newspaper that crowned them one of the five great places for cheesecake in Vancouver. Having to meet up with a friend over coffee, I decided to kill two birds with one stone and set Trees Organic as our meet-up spot.
Bacchus Bistro at Domaine de Chaberton
On a sunny Saturday, several of us were on a private tour to visit three wineries in Langley, one of which was Domaine de Chaberton. Although not a part of the tour itinerary, we opted for the a la carte lunch at Bacchus Bistro. This French bistro is a hidden gem tucked away in the Fraser Valley, recently won Bronze in Best Winery/Vineyard Dining by the Vancouver Magazine's 2010 Restaurant Awards.
