This past weekend, we were invited to go to the Brunch Crawls as part of the Dine Out Vancouver festivities. Put on by Richard the Vancouver Foodster. The first of the brunch crawl series was in Gastown. In 4 hours, Mr. and I checked out 7 different spots in Gastown.

I've always been intrigued by Cartems's donuts, since its pop-up days. I like the various types of donut, their different texture and the featuring of seasonal flavours. For the Christmas season, they introduced a few new flavours and on this one day where I was craving some donuts, I picked up half a dozen Cartems donuts.

I was very impressed by how easy the recipe was, and for making it for the first time, how great the scones turned out. [Christmas on VanFoodies] Baking Cookies with Sesame Seeds
For the last few years, my office has organized a Christmas baking exchange, where we trade our baked goods with each other so we all end up with a variety of treats for the holiday. Last year, I made these sesame cookies; they were delicious and I love the Asian touch to it! We heard of the recipe on the radio and made some changes after we did a couple runs.
