Mr. and I had a few days off in April, so we decided to head down to Seattle for a quick getaway. Instead of hanging out in the downtown area, we chose to stay in the Ballard district, which is known for its ever growing share of breweries. Where we stayed was within walking distance to a cluster of craft breweries, so we did a self-guided brewery tour.
Liuyishou Hotpot – A la carte menu with a huge sauce bar
Does the snowy weather just make you want to cuddle up and sit around the fireplace all day? Us Chinese have another way to fight the cold weather -- hotpot. Recently, I was invited to check out one of the a la carte hotpot places called Liuyishou Hotpot. It's a worldwide chain, with a few locations in the Lower Mainland in Vancouver, Richmond and Burnaby.

A couple of weeks ago, Twin Sails Brewing in Port Moody celebrated its 2nd anniversary. To celebrate, they released a total of 8 beers on Friday, November 10, at their anniversary party. A 40-minute line-up later, I got to try all 7 of the 8 new releases that were available at the anniversary party.
[Craft Beer] 2017 BC Beer Awards Event Recap and Winners List
On October 21, 2017, winners of this year's BC Beer Awards were named. The ceremony was held in conjunction of a tasting event at the Croatian Cultural Centre. Over 65 breweries set up a booth and showcased their beers while celebrating with their peers as winners of 30 award categories were being announced.
[Travel] 36 Hours of Focus in WhistlerÂ
When I was contacted by our friends at Ford Canada that I'd have a Ford Focus for a week, the hopeful boy racer in Mr. asked, “is it an ST? Is it a hatchback?" As it turns out, it was a fully loaded (Titanium) sedan with a pretty blue paint job. It also happened to be the same week as we threw a surprise birthday weekend in Whistler for one of Mr.'s close friends. So we gave the Focus a thorough test on a 36-hour trip.
