How to Enjoy Muscat Grapes from Chile

When it comes to fruits, we always choose what's seasonal, and when possible, local. Recently I discovered muscat grapes from Chile, and I must say, I love these grapes. I was trying to come up with other interesting ways to enjoy the grapes, and here are two things I did.

[Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival 2020] Chez Christophe

Another hot chocolate stop I've made was Chez Christophe in Burnaby. I remember meeting Christophe at a work conference years ago when he was doing cooking demonstration. That was before he opened his shop in Burnaby. Since then, I've been there a few times for pastries, but this was my first time trying their hot chocolate fest creations.

In fact, this is the 10th annual Hot Chocolate Festival. 44 different locations offering more than 110 flavours over a 4-week period, up until Valentine's Day. First stop is the 1931 Gallery Bistro, upstairs from the Vancouver Art Gallery. They serve up 4 creations inspired by art.

[Dine Out Vancouver 2020] The Rise Eatery – Cheeky Names and Uni Pasta #DOVF

Where have you been so far for Dine Out Vancouver? I was quite excited to see The Rise Eatery on the list. Last year they did their own prix fixe menu for $30 and I took Mama Lam and Papa Lam there. It was a good deal and we really enjoyed the food. This year, it's $35 and I still think it's a solid menu; I had them on my list of recommendations. So when I got the invite to preview their menu, yes all the way!

Fufu Cafe – Japanese Souffle Pancakes Now in Vancouver

A new Japanese souffle pancake shop is coming to town! Fufu is short for Fuwa Fuwa in Japanese, and it means fluffy. That's the very heart of these souffle pancakes.

Owners of Fufu were inspired by their visit to Japan a couple of years ago, seeing how popular these souffle pancakes were, and wanted to bring these deliciousness to Vancouver. They spent months on perfecting the menu and recipes and now they are opening the doors at Broadway and Birch.
