Another component of my birthday celebration was two separate feasts in Richmond. I don't usually blog about Chinese food because I don't eat out at Chinese restaurants very often. Well, mom can cook awesome Chinese food so why bother dining out (haha another shameless plug for mom!) Yet this time around the dishes were rather complex and fancy so I think it's worth paying the price and enjoy the food without any hassle in the kitchen.
Chambar Restaurant
As part of my birthday celebration, Mr. and I went to Chambar for dinner. I remembered visiting Chambar years ago for Dine Out Vancouver. That was probably the beginning of my foodie years and I fell in love with the restaurant. I always wanted to go back but I got distracted by other new "candies" in the store. Now, years later, I was determined to pay it another visit.

Maenam
It was a saddening news when I learned that Gastropod would be closed and converted into something else. Having never tried the restaurant before the end of it, I had planned to visit the new "Gastropod", i.e. Maenam. Since the opening of Maenam I have heard many good things about it, and now it's my turn to pay it a visit.
Teahouse in Stanley Park
I recently learned that Sequoia Grill has gone back to its original name as the Teahouse Restaurant. Celebrating its 30 years of success, it has said a lot about the restaurant's quality and reputation. To top my South Granville adventure with my mom on Mother's Day, I decided to take my dad out for dinner at the Teahouse.
