[VanFoodies eat Oregon] Beckie’s Cafe & the Gorgeous Crater Lake

When Mr. and I went on a week-long road trip, ultimately reaching Crater Lake as our south-most point, we stopped at many cities in Washington and Oregon. We made a few trips to local grocery stores and whipped up some tasty bites in the hotel rooms, but we also checked out a number of eateries, including Beckie's in Union Creek near Crater Lake.

Trees Organic is no stranger to me, as I often schedule coffee meet at the centrally-located Granville store. I have also bought its cheesecakes for birthdays before, a bit pricey but they are very good. So when I heard that they are running a promo on National Cheesecake Day on July 30, I jumped on the opportunity to learn more about it.

Richmond, organizer of Tasting Plates Vancouver, once again invited me to check out one of its events. Because it focused on Central Richmond, my new neighbourhood, so I was quite excited to see what the area has to offer.

#MadeinStrathcona – Discovering Gems in the Historic Area

Last week I was invited to go on a media preview tour for Made in Strathcona, a new initiative by the Strathcona Business Improvement Association to promote the area. On May 31 and June 7, public can purchase tickets to tour some of the businesses in the area in various disciplines, such as manufacturing, textile/fashion, culinary and woodwork.

Nero Belgian Waffle Bar – Lining up for waffles?

After our dinner at Le Parisien, we wanted something sweet to end our evening of non-stop chatters. Someone suggested Nero Waffles and since I haven't been, I was more than happy to oblige.
