Suika Snackbar – #SupaSUIKA and More

Once again, we received an invite from the VANEATS team to check out its latest dining package, SupaSUIKA by Suika Snackbar. Because there were 4 of us, so we ordered a few more dishes to share.

Hi Genki – Diamond in the Rough

Hi Genki doesn’t serve sushi. It’s an authentic (relatively speaking) Japanese restaurant, primarily serving rice and noodle dishes. Between the two of us, we had the Spicy Karaage Donburi, the Genki Bento Box, and the Salmon Sashimi.

Minami Restaurant – Grand Opening Party

Last week, I went to the grand opening party of Minami Restaurant, the sister restaurant of Miku.

New York Continues – Halal Guys, Bread and Butter, Momofuku, Da Gennaro

In continuation to my last post, here's a few more places that we tried. Other than these ones we also tried sushi in New York (no, not Mr. Robato). It was awful, maybe because the fish quality in British Columbia is much higher, not sure. Also tried this supposedly "Vietnamese" restaurant, but for some reason it had a strange variety of items on their menu including various Chinese, Thai, and other dishes. Will not bother to review those thoroughly.

Suika Snackbar

Van Eats Media invited us to try out Suika Snackbar's special package called Suika Me Silly. What a silly name. I was a bit hesitant, but when I checked out the photo gallery on Facebook, I was intrigued. Suika Snackbar is a sister restaurant of Kingyo Izakaya on Denman Street. Suika is also an izakaya restaurant serving tapa size dishes. The package we tried is a sampling menu featuring 6 dishes, some are on its regular menu, some are not. This package is available at a limited quantity for $16 in the month of October.
