Hello 2023!! 2022 is a wrap and there's so much to be grateful for and to celebrate. Here are my favourite 10 bites/sips. Now keep in mind this list is about the specific item listed, and restaurants rotate their menu on a regular basis so what I had enjoyed may not be available anymore (and I will try my best to specify below).
[#DineOutVancouver 2021] Social on Commercial Drive
Life has been busy so I didn't really look into Dine Out Vancouver until there were only 2 weeks left. Since I don't dine out very much these days, I wanted to use the opportunity to try some place new. Then I spotted a good deal at Social on Commercial Drive. Social has only been open for a few months, back in October 2020 in midst of the second wave of COVID.
[Dine Out Vancouver 2019] Popina Canteen on Granville Island #DOVF
Not many places offer a $15 Dine Out menu but I was most intrigued by Popina on Granville Island. The restaurant concept is created by some of the most celebrated chefs in Vancouver. The space is made up of shipping containers, located right by the Granville Island Public Market. The $15 menu is pretty straightforward. A sandwich + a side of fries and its signature puffcream for dessert.
Jethro’s Fine Grub – Unexpected Brunch on Fraser Street
This is the second location of Jethro's and the lesser known one, so the line up was not as crazy as the Dunbar location. In fact, we were able to get a table as soon as we arrived. Jethro's serves breakfast all day long. There is a wide selection of savoury and sweet items to choose from.
Torafuku – Eyes Eat First!
An impromptu dinner on a Friday evening took us to Torafuku, the new brick and mortar location brought to you by the Le Tigre food truck team. Frankly, and feeling guilty to admit to it, I never ate at Le Tigre. With the rave reviews about Le Tigre, I was quite excited to try Torafuku.
