We went to the one in Continental Centre, which claims to the first ever fish soup noodles restaurant in Metro Vancouver (the company claims so, this is the second store of the chain).
Lazy Brunch at Acme Cafe
It was one of those mornings, where you roll out of bed and you think, "Damn, I really don't want to do anything. I'm hungry, but I don't want to cook." Not sure about you, but I get those days often - not that I always succumb to them. So of course, cocoon myself into my blankets like a hot dog for a few more minutes before reaching over to text my friend if she wanted some brunch. On her recommendation, we headed out to Acme Cafe, which is in that sort of shady part between Chinatown/Gastown area.
Dine Out Vancouver Returns & Past Dine Out Reviews
Dine Out Vancouver 2012 is set for Jan 20-Feb 5, 2012 and is now open for reservations. In its 10th year, 230 restaurants are participating in this event, offering prix fixe menus at $18, $28 or $38. I thought I'd round up some past Dine Out experience that we have had in recent years (2009-2011), good and bad. Maybe this will help your research as you try to determine which ones to try.
Lonsdale Quay Market Taste Tour & Contest Winners Announced
For five days in October, the Lonsdale Quay Market ran a food and beverage festival called Savour. Honestly, we don't go to the North Shore very often because we live in the suburbs, so we don't know Lonsdale Quay very well. Since the Savour event was free for public to attend, Mr. and I took the opportunity to explore the market.
Long’s Noodle House
I don't often blog about Chinese food because my mom makes great Canton-style dishes (think stir-frys). However we do appreciate other Chinese cuisines and sometimes go out and about for great finds. Shanghainese is one of our favourites, and here's one that we always go for our Shanghainese food fix - Long's Noodle House. The restaurant doesn't look all that fancy on the outside, but don't let that fool you. It serves some really great food.
