Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the lobby of the Hyatt Regency Vancouver is currently filled with gingerbread houses built by students, and amateur and professional bakers. There seems to be fewer entries but the quality seems to be higher than the last couple of years. Here are some highlights for me.

In an earlier post, I mentioned that we made some apple roses for our thanksgiving dinner. It was quite easy to make, and I think it's a very romantic finish to any dinner with your loved ones. The recipe is originated from a YouTube video by Cooking with Manuela. We made some adjustments, so our recipe here is slightly different.
Thanksgiving Dinner with Echelon Foods Turducken Roast
Traditionally it's not in our culture to celebrate Thanksgiving. But this year, as newlyweds, we did something different and invited 4 friends over for a Thanksgiving dinner. Courtesy of Echelon Foods, we received one of their Bacon Wrapped Turducken Premium Roasts. It's a turducken roast with Italian sausage stuffing and wrapped with bacon. A 3kg meaty goodness. It's going to be an epic dinner!
Parklane Chinese Restaurant – Celebrating full moon with Chiu Chow cuisine
Just a couple weeks ago it was Moon Festival aka Mid Autumn Festival. To us, it's an occasion for family gathering, so Mr. and I, along with our parents, went out for a big dinner at Parklane Chinese Restaurant.
