[Christmas on VanFoodies] #CraftCrossingCalendar Halfway Update

This year Parallel 49 and Central City have stepped up to the plate in a big way with its new Craft Crossing Calendar. As of this post, we’re halfway through the calendar. So I thought I would give a quick rundown of the beers and my general impressions, with a focus on the uniques.

[Christmas on VanFoodies] Holiday Flavours at Cartems Donuterie

I've always been intrigued by Cartems's donuts, since its pop-up days. I like the various types of donut, their different texture and the featuring of seasonal flavours. For the Christmas season, they introduced a few new flavours and on this one day where I was craving some donuts, I picked up half a dozen Cartems donuts.

For the 24th year, the lobby of the Hyatt Regency Vancouver is currently filled with gingerbread houses built by secondary and post-secondary students, and amateur and professional bakers.

Is it a holiday tradition at your home/party to pop open a bottle (or two, or more) of sparkly? To prepare for the holiday season, we had the opportunity to sample the Summerhill Pyramid Winery's Cipes Rose. We also prepared some Quinoa Crusted Falafel Mignon, and I thought I'd share the recipe with you here as well.
