Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Shamrock Shake

In North America, part of our tradition is to drink up a Shamrock Shake from McDonald's. And I didn't know about this until after St. Patty's Day last year! So as soon as March rolled around, Mr. and I went to McDonald's and grabbed a Shamrock Shake.

Event: Arts Club’s Spring 2011 Celebrity Chef Cooking Classes

The Arts Club Theatre Company just announced the lineup of its spring 2011 Celebrity Chef Cooking Classes series. It's similar to the Edible BC Market Dinner series, another great opportunity to meet some of the finest chefs in Vancouver and learn a few cooking tips and tricks from them.

La Brasserie

A girl's day out includes a relaxing spa treatment and dinner at La Brasserie on Davie. The catch with La Brasserie is that it doesn't take reservations, so you have to get there early to secure a table. Luckily, our spa appointment ended at 5:30pm and we were basically right across from the street. We got a table without any hassle.

Can Mr. Cook? A V-day Dinner Review

When we don't feel like eating out (yes, this actually happens a lot), Mr. usually is the one in charge of cooking. I realize I never gave him credit for the yummy food he cooks, so I'm taking this opportunity to review one of his most impressive meals to-date.

[Recipe] Tiramisu for Your Valentine

Happy Valentine's Day! This day last year I made Mr. molten lava cake. This year, I made a Tiramisu and I would like to share the recipe of this easy-to-make dessert with you. Traditional recipe calls for mascarpone cheese, but it's not available at all grocery stores. I replace it with cream cheese because it's more common. The flavour of cream cheese was masked by other ingredients so it's not over-powering. I also added some Kahlua to spice it up!
