Diva at the Met
For the first time on VanFoodies.com, all three writers have joined forces to provide you with a full scope of the Dine Out dinner at Diva at the Met. None of us has ever been there before, but we have heard good things about the restaurant. Intrigued by all the praises it receives, despite the recent personnel change in the kitchen (Quang Dang replaced Dino Renaerts as the Executive Chef), I personally was hoping for a treat.
Baru Latino
Mr. and I often eat out at West Coast restaurants and French bistros. To diversify our culinary experience, we took the opportunity to look for something different for Dine Out Vancouver. We decided on Latin American; we chose Baru Latino as per Frank's recommendation list.
Il Giardino Restaurant
My Dine Out Vancouver 2010 kicked off with a location that I've been wanting to go for a few years: Il Giardino, part of the Umberto Group. The advantage of doing DOV with 2 or more people is that you are more likely to try everything on the menu, as restaurants usually offer 3 options for each of the 3 courses. In this case, my parents and I did just that - we ordered one of everything, vegetarian dishes included.
Red Fish Blue Fish: Fish & Chips on the pier
Who would’ve known grilled oysters with coleslaw all wrapped up in a soft taco shell would be so damn delicious? I certainly didn’t before Red Fish Blue Fish. Red Fish Blue Fish is a little Fish & Chips stand located on the pier in the heart of downtown Victoria. It’s below street level and not easy to find, but the line up starts well before lunch time and extends into late afternoon.
