Beer Flight at Central City Brewing Company

As a Surrey resident and SFU grad, I’ve walked by Central City Brewing Company countless times. It’s a wonder why I never sat down, and tried their beers.

Cooking with Chef Bernie at Louis Gervais Fine Foods

I’m sorry to say this to all the ones I’ve taken before, this cooking class with Chef Bernie DesLauriers at Louis Gervais Fine Foods was one that I’ve enjoyed the most.

Product Review: Skillet Street Food Bacon Spread

The universe presents to you, Bacon Spread. The Bacon Spread is made by Skillet, a street food company located in Seattle, which apparently also makes processed products on the side. It’s made with real bacon, rendered down, cooked with seasoning for a few hours, and pureed. It comes in two flavours, Original, and Fennel and Black Pepper.

Nestle Toll House Cafe

I didn’t grow up with a lot of baked goods. It wasn’t really a part of my culture. Not surprisingly, it wasn’t long until I started to take a liking to them. After all, who can say no to a soft, moist, and buttery cookie? Well I certainly couldn’t. This is the only Nestle Toll House store in BC, and in Canada for that matter (strange choice, because you would assume most chains would open their flagship store in Vancouver or Toronto). Like a bakery, all the sweets are displayed at the front of the shop. There are various types of desserts, with the majority being cookies. They also have smoothies and Nescafe products.
