Il Giardino Restaurant

My Dine Out Vancouver 2010 kicked off with a location that I've been wanting to go for a few years: Il Giardino, part of the Umberto Group. The advantage of doing DOV with 2 or more people is that you are more likely to try everything on the menu, as restaurants usually offer 3 options for each of the 3 courses. In this case, my parents and I did just that - we ordered one of everything, vegetarian dishes included.

Without Dine Out Vancouver this winter, so what now?

As you may all have heard, Dine Out Vancouver has been postponed to later in the Spring, April 26-May 6. While you start to wonder what to do to stop your food craving, a number of restaurants have put together some foodie events to help you get through this winter.

Water St. Cafe

The sixth Dine Out ’09 was at Water St. Cafe. It was a group dinner with 6 other co-workers and they asked the foodie, i.e. me to help pick a place. I chose this location because of its close proximity to our office and its menu was of decent value at $28. I didn't regret recommending this place for dinner.

Joe Fortes Seafood & Chop House (Lunch)

Out of the norm, I had a Dine Out lunch at Joe Fortes. It's offering two courses for $13.95 - a combination of any two courses: appetizer, entree and dessert. Remembering my terrible Dine Out experience several years ago, I've given the restaurant more than one try to redeem itself. And I just gave it another shot with a lunch.
