[VanFoodies eat Oregon] Beckie’s Cafe & the Gorgeous Crater Lake

When Mr. and I went on a week-long road trip, ultimately reaching Crater Lake as our south-most point, we stopped at many cities in Washington and Oregon. We made a few trips to local grocery stores and whipped up some tasty bites in the hotel rooms, but we also checked out a number of eateries, including Beckie's in Union Creek near Crater Lake.

Now that summer is behind us, it's time to celebrate the bounty of fall stone fruit such as peaches and apples. With our trip to the Okanagan, we of course bought some gorgeous peaches. And what do you do when you have a lot to go through? You can freeze them, canned them, give them away...for us, we made pie!

In addition to Fliptop, we also discovered an interesting dessert truck at the Columbia StrEAT event. This truck sells one thing, an East European dessert called Slavic Roll, hence the truck name "Slavic Rolls".

[Event] Celebrate National Cheesecake Day with Trees Organic, July 30

Trees Organic is no stranger to me, as I often schedule coffee meet at the centrally-located Granville store. I have also bought its cheesecakes for birthdays before, a bit pricey but they are very good. So when I heard that they are running a promo on National Cheesecake Day on July 30, I jumped on the opportunity to learn more about it.
