The dinner is part of a program organized by Edible BC called Cooking with BC's Best Market Dinner. At each dinner, a renowned local chef would display his or her culinary skills and inspirations. First booked in February this year, we finally got to savour the dishes that we have been yearning for over the last six months. The chef for dinner was Lee Parsons, the executive chef at Bacchus Restaurant in the Wedgewood Hotel.
Wings Wings Wings! Wings night at the Thirsty Duck Pub
I’ll start by saying the wings there were absolutely delicious, better than Wings wings. At a quarter a piece, you won’t find better wings for less around Vancouver. They are cooked just right, and are decent sized as well so they are crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We went ahead and ordered a pound of each flavour, 7 in total, honey garlic, sweet and spicy, thai, teriyaki, hot, BBQ, and salt and pepper.
Hart House Restaurant
I have to say, sometimes I have the toughest time trying to determine a dinner location in Burnaby, especially when it comes to somewhere for fine dining and celebrating special occasions. Often comes to mind is the Hart House near Deer Lake. On a Saturday in May (yeah it's awhile ago, but I had the draft ready awhile back; it's just been collecting dust), Mr. and I went there for a friend's birthday.
Confessions of True Confections
I like the open and casual style of the shop, but I’m sure a lesser man out there would’ve preferred it to be more cozy and romantic. It’s pretty neat that they have all their finished products on display, so you know exactly what you are getting a slice off.
Diva at the Met
For the first time on VanFoodies.com, all three writers have joined forces to provide you with a full scope of the Dine Out dinner at Diva at the Met. None of us has ever been there before, but we have heard good things about the restaurant. Intrigued by all the praises it receives, despite the recent personnel change in the kitchen (Quang Dang replaced Dino Renaerts as the Executive Chef), I personally was hoping for a treat.
