BC’s Best Market Dinner Schedule for 2011

As mentioned in our previous posts, Edible BC offers an exciting series of events called "Cooking with BC's Best Guest Chefs". Joyce and I (Frank) have been to the one with Chef Lee Parson from Bacchus Restaurant. The folks at Edible BC has just released the 2011 schedule. Here is a brief list.

Edible BC’s Cooking with BC’s Best Market Dinner ft. Chef Lee Parsons

The dinner is part of a program organized by Edible BC called Cooking with BC's Best Market Dinner. At each dinner, a renowned local chef would display his or her culinary skills and inspirations. First booked in February this year, we finally got to savour the dishes that we have been yearning for over the last six months. The chef for dinner was Lee Parsons, the executive chef at Bacchus Restaurant in the Wedgewood Hotel.

[Wines] Tasting the Wines of Australia – Part 2

During my last post, I discussed the delicious food and wine pairings at this event; but there was much much more -- over 70 types of wine was presented for tasting, and I did what I can to try them all. Here's a list of my favourites. I’d like to make it clear that I’m by no means a wine connoisseur. However, if you are a beginner yourself, you’ll likely find my opinions useful.

I was invited to participate in Wine Australia’s media tasting. Yum would best describe this wine and dine experience, and it all started with these wine and food pairings. I went into a bit more detail with my favourites. Please stay tuned for part 2 of this post, as I use my rudimentary yet honest experience with wine to talk about the six categories of wine sampled at this event.

Last Tuesday, VanFoodies was invited to the "Treats for Tweeters" event at the Seasons Restaurant in Queen Elizabeth Park. It's its bi-weekly wine tasting, but this one was exclusively for some tweeters, bloggers and foodies.
