As you may all have heard, Dine Out Vancouver has been postponed to later in the Spring, April 26-May 6. While you start to wonder what to do to stop your food craving, a number of restaurants have put together some foodie events to help you get through this winter.
Two Chinese Birthday Feasts in Richmond
Another component of my birthday celebration was two separate feasts in Richmond. I don't usually blog about Chinese food because I don't eat out at Chinese restaurants very often. Well, mom can cook awesome Chinese food so why bother dining out (haha another shameless plug for mom!) Yet this time around the dishes were rather complex and fancy so I think it's worth paying the price and enjoy the food without any hassle in the kitchen.
Chambar Restaurant
As part of my birthday celebration, Mr. and I went to Chambar for dinner. I remembered visiting Chambar years ago for Dine Out Vancouver. That was probably the beginning of my foodie years and I fell in love with the restaurant. I always wanted to go back but I got distracted by other new "candies" in the store. Now, years later, I was determined to pay it another visit.

Christmas Fine Dining at Home
Once again I'm trying to praise my mom's cooking on this blog. On Christmas Day, we hosted my aunt's family for dinner, and my mom cooked a dinner for 6. Other than the entree where we're given the option of lamb or back ribs, we each had two appetizers and two desserts. And the results? It's like dining at a restaurant!!
