[Dine Out Vancouver 2022] My Suggestions for Lunch, Dinner, Take Out & Special Offer #DOVF

Dine Out Vancouver is back and it's celebrating its 20th anniversary! Running from January 14-31, 2022, over 300 restaurants are offering prix fixe menus for dine-in or take-out priced between $20 and $59 (side note: this was up from $15-$54 last year). It was very exciting to be able to dine in again when things opened up last year. Things may be a bit iffy now but you can still enjoy Dine Out Vancouver whether it's dine-in or take-out. As per previous years, I took the time to review the menus and here are what caught my eyes.

[News] Dine Strathcona 2021 Returns in Support of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside

Nineteen beloved restaurants, cafes and breweries in the Strathcona neighbourhood in Vancouver will come together to participate in Dine Strathcona 2021. A culinary event coordinated by the Strathcona Business Improvement Association, Dine Strathcona runs from November 17 to 30, 2021, to raise money in support of vulnerable community members within Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.

Taste of Yaletown is back for its 17th year! For the first time, it will run for the entire month of October, with restaurants offering special menus created especially for the event. This year, Taste of Yaletown (TOY) is also putting an emphasis on community and bringing the community back together safely.

[News] $125K Grant Program to Support Vancouver Restaurants in Launching Delivery Concepts

I am excited to be a part of the NBRHD Restaurant Development Program, initiated by REEF Technology, to help Vancouver restaurants launch a delivery business. The restaurant industry has been hit hard this past year due to COVID, and many have turned to delivery and other innovative ways to keep their business afloat. This private grant money will provide some relief to a few restaurants, and perhaps help expand, preserve, or resurrect some beloved culinary concepts from going under and be lost forever.

At a time when the restaurants keep getting setbacks, let's show them we care. The BC Restaurant and Foodservice Association (BCRFA), Sumac Ridge Estate Winery, Save-On-Foods stores, and Town Hall Brands have partnered up in an initiative called #StandUpforService, where outstanding restaurant workers from across BC are recognized for their top-notch service at BCRFA.com.
