Want More Dine Out 2014? Some Extended Menu Offerings

While we’re continuing our Dine Out Vancouver coverage this week, I’m pleased to let you know that some restaurants have decided to extend their menu offering for a few more days. Here are their end dates and menus:

This year’s Dine Out has been my recent favourite. Overall, I think the restaurants have raised the bar and put out a much more interesting and tastier menu, and the service quality has also seen improvement. We have 2 more reviews coming up this week so be sure to follow them!

Taste of Yaletown Premiere – Recap

Taste of Yaletown may be over but here are some more tasty pictures. We were invited to the Taste of Yaletown Premiere event, which kicked off the 11 days of deliciousness down in Yaletown. It was held at a cool venue aka the MINI Yaletown.

Minami Restaurant – Grand Opening Party

Last week, I went to Minami Restaurant’s grand opening party. Minami is the sister restaurant of Miku, which is among the best Japanese restaurants in Vancouver.

The evening began with the Kagami Biraki ceremony, which is the opening of a cask of sake using a mallet, conducted by owner Seigo and two of his guests. Minami offers a large variety of sake on the menu; they even have someone on staff who specializes in sake.

Seigo-san spoke about the philosophy behind his restaurant group and the three main pillars: food, atmosphere, and people. We heard about his quest for the mural artist and the custom-made porcelain.

He talked about his passion for delivering high quality of food, as well as his vision in providing top-notch service through his knowledgeable staff. Everything was demonstrated at this grand opening event. (more…)
