Win Win Chick-N: Fried Chicken in Steveston, Richmond. Winner, winner?

Last year a few fried chicken shops popped up, one of which was Win Win Chick-N in Steveston. It was quite hyped up and this Valentine's Day it was even selling a fried chicken bouquet rivaling Juke. It's a bit of a trek to go to Steveston just for fried chicken but when I won a gift card there, there's no more excuse for me not to try them out.

Afternoon Tea at Origo Club, Richmond

For Mother's Day, I took Mama Lam to afternoon tea at Origo Club. They offered a special menu for the weekend, but surprisingly, it was at its regular price of $45 per person. Good on them for not raising the price on this special day because many places do. The number of items was the same as usual but with a different line-up of desserts.

Exposure Social House Richmond 曝光奶茶 – Devil’s Fresh Milk and more

Have you heard of the trendy Brown Sugar Pearl Latte? Almost all, if not all, bubbletea shops are making those. I have jumped on this BBT bandwagon and the most recent stop was visiting the Exposure Social House in Richmond. It took over the Shake Shake Tea space at Empire Centre.

Golden Paramount Seafood Restaurant 金百樂海鮮酒家 – Celebrating Chinese New Year in Richmond

It's Chinese New Year (CNY) a couple of weeks ago, and us Chinese know how to celebrate -- eat, feast, and repeat. Of course, there are many regional Chinese New Year traditions throughout China, and being from HK, the HK tradition is what I'm most familiar with. On New Year's Eve I was invited to a feast with food expert Lee Man, and it just heightened my appreciation for my culture. Calling it a feast, obviously it was a multi-course dinner with an abundance of food. We are all about good meanings when it comes to choosing the dishes or even naming them for CNY. On Instagram I showed a glimpse of what that means with the CNY dinner made by Mama Lam this year. It's being realized here once again at Golden Paramount in Richmond.

Richmond now has a Dumpling Trail!

Yesterday I received a pretty neat surprise at lunch. Tourism Richmond delivered some freshly made dumplings from a number of Richmond restaurants. Why, you ask? There's now a Dumpling Trail in Richmond!
