If you follow me on Instagram, you would see in my IG Stories that yesterday I received a pretty neat surprise at lunch. Tourism Richmond delivered some freshly made dumplings from a number of Richmond restaurants. Why, you ask? There’s now a Dumpling Trail in Richmond!

Dumplings for Lunch
The Dumpling Trail is a self-guided tour of 15 restaurants in Richmond that serve up a wide variety of dumplings.
It ranges from Har Gow 蝦餃 (Shrimp Dumpling), Siu Mai 燒賣 (Pork Dumpling) and Xiao Long Bao 小籠包 (aka XLB, Soup Dumpling), to Guo Tie 鍋貼, Chiu Chow Fun Gor 潮州粉果 and Korean Mandu. Being Chinese and growing up in Hong Kong, many of these dumplings are no stranger to me, so it’s pretty exciting to see them featured and a spotlight is shining on them.
Here’s a sneak preview of the pocket guide explaining what each dumpling is:
As part of the launch, Tourism Richmond is giving away a prize package worth up to $4,000. Visitors of the Dumpling Trail can enter between now and Dec 31, 2016.
For the list of participating Dumpling Trail restaurants, description of the various dumplings, and contest details, visit thedumplingtrail.com
I’m so glad you featured this Joyce! Who doesn’t love a good dumpling? I hoping to carve out some time to hit up some of these spots.

Yes, try to hit them up! And let me know what you think. There are other dishes that each restaurant offers that are unique to their cuisine and culture too.

WOW. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not averse to exercise, and I rather enjoy the great outdoors… but THIS is the kind of trail I can really get on board with. I’m very glad to be living in Richmond right now! Thank you SO much for posting about this!!

Haha you are welcome Sean! Frankly there are more than 15 restaurants that offer dumplings in Richmond but this will be a good starting point to be introduced to the world of dumplings!
