Nineteen beloved restaurants, cafes and breweries in the Strathcona neighbourhood in Vancouver will come together to participate in Dine Strathcona 2021. A culinary event coordinated by the Strathcona Business Improvement Association, Dine Strathcona runs from November 17 to 30, 2021, to raise money in support of vulnerable community members within Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
There's a new food event in Vancouver that introduces us to some hidden (and not-so-hidden) gems in Railtown, while supporting a local charity. Running from November 1 to 30, Dine Railtown features nine restaurants in the Railtown neighbourhood. I was invited to preview 3 of the locations.
Have you been to the Settlement Building in Railtown? Did you know you could find wine, beer AND food in that one place? The Settlement Building is home to the Vancouver Urban Winery, Postmark Brewing, and Belgard Kitchen. Last week I was invited to go on a media preview tour for Made in Strathcona, a new initiative by the Strathcona Business Improvement Association to promote the area. On May 31 and June 7, public can purchase tickets to tour some of the businesses in the area in various disciplines, such as manufacturing, textile/fashion, culinary and woodwork.
