A Taste of Aboriginal Food Culture

As part of the Olympic festivities, I was also invited to the Aboriginal Food Showcase at the Pan Pacific. It was the opening night of the Kla-howya exhibit at the hotel. This was my first encounter with Aboriginal food culture, so I had no idea what to expect. Using traditional tools from Italy’s Consorzio del Formaggio Parmigiano Reggiano, cheese mongers will carve and portion each 85-pound wheel in approximately half an hour.

If my memory serves me right, I went to Blue Water once years ago, before my foodie years. At that time I didn't quite know how to enjoy good food. So when I got a hold of a $50 gift certificate for the restaurant, I invited a friend along and gave it another try.
