[Wines] Mediterranean Mingle: Food Paired with Wines from South of France

The second event of the Vancouver International Wine Festival that we went to was the Mediterranean Mingle. It's a grazing lunch. There were a number of Mediterranean-inspired dishes being put out, with suggested wine pairings. They suggested some classic pairings, but also "out of the box" pairings. Keeping up with the French theme, the focus was on wines from South of France.

Bestie – Sausage Party in Chinatown

There's a new bratwurst in town that I keep hearing about from people and it took me awhile to figure out where it was. There are two styles to the dishes, one is currywurst in which they slice the sausage for you and put it on top of fries with house made curry ketchup; the other is the sausage and sauerkraut where they leave the sausage whole, with fries and sauerkraut on the side.

Burgoo at Burgoo North Vancouver

After a short hike on a chilly Saturday morning, we popped into Burgoo in North Van for a late lunch. We were a little tired, a little cold, and very hungry. It was well past lunch time.

[Events] Street Food City is back – Our favs & wishlist

As part of Dine Out Vancouver 2014, Street Food City is returning for its 3rd year. Between January 22 and January 26, 23 food trucks will be gathered around the north side of Vancouver Art Gallery and serve some fantastic food truck goodness at this festival.
