A murder took place at the wedding we went to last weekend. Who dunnit?!
Don’t worry, it was a wedding themed event hosted by Vancouver Mysteries, part of a drag murder mystery series called Murder Is A Drag. Mr. and I were dressed to the nines as wedding guests, showing up at Delta Hotels Vancouver Downtown Suites.

First, we were treated to a buffet dinner (just like some wedding banquets!) that included salads, flatbread, roasted vegetables, roasted potatoes, mushroom raviolis, and roasted chicken breast. Guests had the option to add a dessert board for two for less than $20, which we didn’t do, but shout out to fellow table mates Jenny and Spencer for sharing their dessert platter with us (and Happy 10th Anniversary to you!). That dessert board can easily be shared by three to four people, after the buffet dinner, so it’s not a lot of money (the photo below is only what J&S shared with us, which is maybe 1/3 of the board).

Once we had a couple of drinks in our hands, the wedding was underway. In the most unexpected manner, the murder took place and claimed an innocent life! 😱 We followed along the storyline and the murder investigation led by Detective Sherlock Homo. During one of the breaks, we were even given some clues to help decipher. Of course, I can’t spoil it and tell you who the victim and murderer were but there were certainly plot twists and red herrings, so pay close attention!

I’m a big fan of Vancouver Mysteries but it was only my first time attending a Murder Is A Drag event. All in all, we had a great time! The drag performances were fun, featuring social media sensation Dandy, plus Karmella “Sissy” Barr, Justin Abit, and Glimmer Rouge. I’m embarrassed to report that Mr. and I were fooled by the murderer, but someone won a prize for guessing it correctly! If you like dinner, drinks, drag and murder mystery, check out their next event in June! Also, if you like escape rooms and scavenger hunts, you should also check out their outdoor games. I’ve done all but one and I enjoyed every one of them.
