The third annual Vancouver Craft Beer Week has become a 11-day event, with 9 Headliner events, 6 Opening Acts, 36 Neighbourhood Gigs, and 12+ week-long specials dedicated to all things craft beer.

May 18- June 2: Feast! Tofino
A 16-day-long series of culinary events to be held on the West Coast of Vancouver Island beginning on May 18, 2012 and culminating with the Tofino Food and Wine Festival, June 1-2, 2012. A collaboration between acclaimed local and regional guest chefs, restaurants, fishermen, foragers, farmers, accommodation, activity and tour providers, Feast! Tofino celebrates the abundance of available seafood and the sustainable “boat-to-table” practices commonly employed by the area’s restaurants and the Tofino-Ucluelet Culinary Guild.
There are a number of activities happening during that period, including “Dine About” prix fixe menus at $29, $39 and $49, Salmon Dock Festival (May 19) and Spot Prawn Dock Festival (May 26).

May 23-July 18: Arts Club Theatre’s Celebrity Chef Cooking Classes
The Arts Club Theatre Company announces its spring 2012 lineup of Celebrity Chef Cooking Classes, running from May 28 to July 18. These intimate four-course dinners are held at private residences throughout Vancouver to give guests the opportunity to discover the latest trends in food and wine, and ways to incorporate in-vogue ingredients into the home cook’s arsenal. The spring lineup includes new chefs: David Robertson, owner of The Dirty Apron Cooking School; TV personality Anthony Sedlak, who recently opened The American Cheesesteak Co.; Tim Evans at Siena Restaurant; and Tom Lee, chef de cuisine at Edible Canada at the Market.

May 5: Spot Prawn Festival
On Saturday, May 5th, 2012, the city’s top chefs will prepare a Spot Prawn Boil at False Creek Fishermen’s Wharf benefiting The Chefs’ Table Society of British Columbia. The festival kicks off the BC spot prawn season, which continues on for 6-8 weeks.
Tickets for the Spot Prawn Boil is $12 each, which gives you:
- One plate of fresh-off-the-boat BC Spot Prawns, accompanied by sides, sauces and Terra Breads baked goods to mop it all up!
- Entrance into the food, wine, and beer tent, featuring pours from Mogiana Coffee, R&B Brewing, and Ganton & Larsen Prospect Winery

May 12: Mother’s Day Festivities at Whole Foods Robson Street
At the Robson Street location, Whole Foods is holding an affordable high tea event in its cafe, with an option for some pampering in the Whole Body Department! For $10 you will receive 3 Sweet Petites, Cream Biscuit with Devonshire cream and Jam and 3 Finger Sandwiches, or $20 for High Tea with a mini massage or makeover!
There is also a cookie decoration session for kids for $3.99 in the morning from 10am to 12pm.

May 18-20: 1st Annual Cloverdale Cowboy Cook Off
The first annual Cloverdale Cowboy Cook Off presented by Well Seasoned takes place on May 19 & 20, 2012. On the fairgrounds in conjunction with the Cloverdale Rodeo, this new attraction will draw thousands of spectators. $10,000 in guaranteed prize money!
