Mr. and I got a taste of our post-pandemic world while exploring Vancouver’s North Shore Ale Trail for three days in early July. That’s 16 long months after the first COVID-19 lockdown in March 2020! We checked out a total of 17 spots in North Vancouver, including 9 craft breweries.
On our trip, we made a stop at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, kayaked for 3 hours in Deep Cove, explored the Shipyards District, went for a waterfront stroll, and were basically in a constant food and beer coma.
I wrote a guest post on BC Ale Trail’s website detailing my 3-day trip. Here are some of the beer highlights for us:
- At Green Leaf, I really enjoyed the malty taste in the refreshing Amber Lager, but my favourite was definitely the Lolo Stout
- Mr. and I fought over the last sips of Tart Passion Fruit Ale and Guava Gose at Streetcar Brewing
- Not usually an IPA drinker, but the Side Cut IPA at Bridge Brewing was worthy of an encore
- Rainbow Flight at Wildeye Brewing, especially the Limoncello Sour and Blue Margarita that featured the blue curacao from Sons of Vancouver
- Beaches as Kiwi and Tropic Like It’s Hot sours at North Point
- Mood Ring definitely won our hearts at Beere Brewing
- The Passionfruit Orange Guava (aka POG) Sour at Deep Cove Brewers was very good, so was the Nitro Crawl Stout. The Cucumber Pilsner surprisingly had a very prominent cucumber note to it
- House of Funk‘s Funk Juice was true to its name – the pineapple coconut one was just so juicy!
