New and Exciting Concession Items at BC Place Stadium

With the new Whitecaps season kicked off last weekend and one of the biggest concert years ahead, BC Place Stadium and Sodexo Live! have launched their new concession menu for 2023. Throughout the concourse level, different themed concession stands serve up a variety of items inspired by different cuisines and cultures. There are also a few fun items introduced to the menu this year.

I had the pleasure to attend the media tasting and showcase last week, and here are what caught my eyes:

Seoul Food (section 206)

Korean Fried Chicken – 4 flavours to choose from: soy honey garlic, snowing cheese, Gochujang glaze, and original. The chicken pieces were more Taiwanese popcorn chicken size, but the flavours definitely reminded you of K.F.C.!

Beast Unleashed (section 210)

Tuxedo Wild Mushroom Truffle Burger (AKA “All Black Burger” at HSBC Rugby Sevens) – caramelized mushroom, truffle cheese, truffle aioli, charcoal brioche bun. This was my favourite bite at the media event. Truffle flavour was prominent and accentuated the caramelized mushroom. The black charcoal brioche bun also makes it fun.

Porky Pine Bun – grilled pork chop, spam, butter, house baked pineapple bun. House-baked pineapple bun? Yes, please! The “pineapple” crust on top was crispy and slightly sweet. Our taster size was so cute – I think it has the potential to be turned into a pineapple bun slider trio!

Foot Long Lobster Roll – Atlantic lobster, fresh herbs, brioche bun by La Baguette. Now that’s an elevated foot long for a concession stand! Buttery brioche bun was amazing, and it just feels luxurious to be having lobster at a stadium.

Boom Kitchen (section 230 & 244)

Rainbow Grilled Cheese (vegetarian) – mozzarella cheese, sourdough . This is only available on Pride Night on July 8. But how fun is this?

Tuna Poke Bowl – ahi tuna, cucumber, edamame, pickled ginger, carrots, yuzu sesame soy dressing, sriracha aioli, brown rice & quinoa. This will be perfect when the weather gets warmer and the stadium is not as chilly!

Bombay (section 220) – new concession stand this year

Handmade Vegetable Samosas (vegetarian) – peas, carrots, potatoes, spices. Fun hand-held food that’s not available at a typical concession stand!

Final Thoughts

There are many other items that are introduced to the concession this year, such as Smoked Meat Sandwich (Beast Unleashed), Butter Chicken (Bombay), Chana Masala (Bombay), Cheeseburger Poutine (Poutinerie, section 212 & 239) and Crispy Chicken Sandwich (Lionsgate Grill, section 214, 228, 242 & 254), but I particularly enjoyed the above and/or found them intriguing.
