Overview:
On V-Day, I had the pleasure of being treated to a delicious homemade dessert by Joyce. And yes, I’m referring to food (mind out of the gutter folks).
For us men, chocolates are simply bittersweet snacks that we sometimes choose over fruits. They have never been an important part of my life, and they will never serve as a substitute for anything else. So right off the bat, Joyce gave herself a pretty big challenge to overcome, not taking the easy way out to please a man.
What went in:
To call this dessert a chocolate explosion would be an understatement. The Molten Lava Cake is soft and fluffy on the outside with a warm and gooey centre. It’s neither overly sweet nor overly rich, yet still leaves a lingering chocolaty goodness long after a bite. Served with ice cream, it was the perfect dessert to substitute a meal with.
What came out:
This was one expensive dish; I’m still paying it off to this day.
Service:
I was forcefully instructed to keep away from the food prep area despite my curiosity. However, the service was warm and friendly, and the server did and still does provide pretty good company.
Conclusion:
The petite girl with a big appetite turned out to be a decent cook as well. Now if I can just figure out how to get her to cook again…
