Exactly one year ago today I announced that we switched to a new domain. Happy birthday to VanFoodies.com – we’re one year old!
One year old? But you’ve got blog posts dated all the way back in 2006!
Yes, if you had the opportunity to go through my old posts, you would notice that I’ve been blogging since 2006. Back then I was just doing it leisurely and didn’t really consider myself a blogger. The turning point was last year when I felt the warm welcome from the food blogging community and decided to take my blog to the next level. It’s when I got the domain name VanFoodies that this site really started to take off. In addition, I had the privilege of having Mr. and Frank joining me to provide readers with different perspectives of food.
To celebrate this special occasion, I enlisted the help of Mr. to whip up a batch of delicious red velvet cup cakes. I created my recipe from a couple different sources (one for the cake and one for the frosting), with a few of my own touches. I’m not known for my cooking skills or being able to cook at all, but once in awhile I surprise myself and others by making something yummy. This cupcake recipe is fairly easy to follow. Check back on Wednesday for the recipe – it’ll be perfect for Christmas parties!
Even though we are nowhere near rich and famous (hence no contest or party to celebrate our anniversary lol), and we are not blogging everyday like other fellow food bloggers (you know who you are!), we do try to update as much as we can to keep you entertained.
Thank you for supporting VanFoodies in the past year and we look forward to sharing more of our food adventures with you all!!
Cheers,
Joyce
Congrats! Keep it up!

Who? Who??? 😛

Obligatory question: Does it have anything to do with some payback, as in this? 🙂

I was offered the chance to eat the cup cakes if I helped to bake the cup cakes, so of course I couldn’t say no to that

Congratulations! Here is to many more years ahead. 🙂 So did the three of you ate all the 12 cupcakes?

Thanks Ben! Frank wasn’t there to help making the cupcakes – but it’s an excellent idea for when we try to make something again!

Congratulations Joyce on your one-year anniversary. Well done. I love the photos in this blog – I think the cupcake I ate was the one completely covered in the yummy icing!
