Last weekend, winners of the 2023 BC Beer Awards were named at the Croatian Cultural Centre. The judges evaluated 925 entries to select the winners in 29 categories. I was invited to attend the ceremony and was excited to celebrate with the breweries and other beer lovers.
Saturday’s ceremony also included a beer festival. In the past, they had breweries setting up booths and pouring samples of their beers. Since last year, they have changed the format so there were only a few beer stations serving beer in cans, and the industry folks can focus on reconnecting and celebrating with each other.
With the tokens that came with each ticket, we could redeem beer or snacks prepared by The Barley Merchant. Non-alcoholic beverages were free and there were food trucks outside of the venue available for purchase as well.

And here is the Instagram post from BC Beer Awards announcing the winners of the 29 categories. Congratulations to everyone!
All in all, it was a fun event with lots of buzzing energy in the rooms. And I appreciate the messages about safety and intolerance of harassment as well.
Disclosure: I attended the event as a representative from the media. My admission to the event was complimentary of BC Beer Awards. However, the views and opinions expressed in this post are purely my own.
