Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival is back! Given the global COVID-19 pandemic and Public Health Order restrictions in BC, most participating vendors not only offer dine-in hot chocolates, but also to-go options and DIY kits. On the top of my list to try was Mon Paris Patisserie because both flavours on the menu sound so good!
On an almost snow day this weekend, we went to Mon Paris for a taste. I was hoping to sit inside the patisserie actually, but both tables were occupied so we could only take them to-go and enjoy them in our car ride.

On the left is Moscow Calling, dark hot chocolate with hazelnut and raspberry, served with a chocolate matryoshka doll on top and traditional Russian nut cookies on the side.
The other one is From Paris With Love. It’s ruby hot chocolate infused with lavender, served with a chocolate Eiffel Tower on top and a lavender financier.
Funny enough, Mr. preferred Moscow Calling while I liked From Paris With Love. I enjoyed them both, to be honest. Moscow Calling was richer with the dark chocolate and more complex; From Paris With Love was sweeter and you mostly just taste the lavender. I liked that they both have some tart flavours coming from different ingredients: one from raspberry, another from ruby chocolate. Both hot chocolates paired well with their little cookies or cake.

Final Thoughts
The hot chocolates here are $7.50 each, which are not bad price-wise. I thought the flavours and decorations are quite unique. I would recommend you to give them a try.
