Opened on March 20, OEB Breakfast Co. is now officially in Langley at Willowbrook Shopping Centre. We had a sneak preview of the new location on the weekend and had a Sunday brunch there.

By the way, if you are using Google Maps to locate the restaurant, note that it’s NOT inside the mall. It’s actually just north of it, as indicated in my doodle below (spot the egg!). We followed Google Maps and had to walk frantically inside the mall to search for the restaurant haha!

Similar to their other locations, I love the vibrancy of the interior with lots of blue, orange and yellow. It’s airy and it’s welcoming, with lots of seats and staff ready for service.

Food
First time trying the Iced Con Panna and I became a fan. There’s Bailey’s and Kahlua, mixed with Butter Ripple Schnapps, chilled espresso and topped with whipped cream. It’d be so good on a summer day! Their coffee is supplied by Caffe Umbria, and you know I like their coffee, so the latte also hit the spot.

Duck Confit (under Not So Tini Crostinis) is available at certain locations only and it’s available here in Langley. It’s the whole confit duck leg sitting on top of a slice of French rye toast, two poached eggs, chestnut paste and a spicy caramel sauce. They nailed the cooking of the poached eggs, perfectly medium with lots of gooey egg yolk. The duck leg was nice and crispy on the outside, and the meat was moist and juicy inside. Personally we didn’t like the use of chestnut on the toast because it’s too sweet for our liking, especially combined with the spicy caramel sauce. However, overall, this was such a succulent brunch dish and reasonably priced at $23.

Mr. chose the Traditional Eggs Benny, and he liked it. Again, poached eggs were perfect in the cooking and shape. Mr. picked the artisan-style rosemary ham and there was a substantial amount of it. Love that the eggs benny is served on a crispy butter croissant so it’s more decadent. We substituted the herb potatoes with waffle fries and they were great.

If you like sweets for brunch, I would highly recommend the French Toast Trifle. I’m a sucker for anything brioche, so that’s already a point there. Plus, there’s lemon curd, another point. And then they add a lot of berries and top everything with pavlovas. *Chef’s kiss* I didn’t order it this time, but I had it at the West Vancouver location once and forever remembering it. I tell everyone to order this, and they all love it after trying it!

Final Thoughts
This new OEB location is actually the closest to me of them all, so I’m excited about it. Now I can do good quality brunch more often without having to drive all the way out to Vancouver. I have to order the French Toast Trifle next time, and the Mimosa Flight. I also appreciate that OEB features and partners with local companies such as Countryside Farms, Ponderosa, Trading Post Brewing, Backyard Vineyards and Fraser Valley Cider.
