March 29: Dining Out For Life (Various Locations in Vancouver/Whistler)
Dining Out For Life is BC’s largest restaurant fundraiser, benefiting A Loving Spoonful and Friends For Life.
Over 250 restaurants from Whistler to White Rock and across the Fraser Valley will contribute 25% of their sales on March 29 to people living with HIV/AIDS.

March 29: Gourmet Warehouse Chocolate Challenge Grand Finale
The Chocolate Challenge is looking for the most creative, original and downright delectable chocolate recipe! Taste the Chocolate Challenge 2012’s top 6 entries and cast your vote as judges Rob Feenie, Thomas Haas and Greg Hook declare the Grand Prize Winner of the best chocolate recipe of 2012.
Tickets are priced $50.00 and can be purchased by calling the Gourmet Warehouse at 604-253-3022. All profits from the Chocolate Challenge 2012 will be donated to the Strathcona Back-Pack Program committed to providing nutritious snacks and meals for children in need in the Strathcona neighborhood.

Underground supper event organizers take the public stage for the very first time. For one day only, the two masterminds behind Ludzu & Xie Xie, Alex Dadzis and Ken Tsui, will take over the corner of Main St. & Kingsway, and transform Gene, the iconic coffee bar, into a Chinese hawker stand. They will be serving the following:
- Paradise Valley Pork Belly & House-Made Apple Jelly Fei Bing $7.00
- Sesame Shiitake & Smoked Tofu with Hoisin, Sriracha Fei Bing $7.00
- Add 5 Spice Yam Chips $2.00
- Ice Queen Sweet Heart (Almond Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich) $4.00

March 17-18: St. Patrick’s Day Brunch at Raincity Grill
Raincity Grill will offer a two-course brunch for $20 per person. You will have the options such as “Green Eggs and Ham”, which includes green scrambled eggs, ‘sloping hills’ pork, toast, and herbed potatoes; a delicious crab omelet with watercress salad; Bubble & Squeak Hash, which features poached eggs topped with a creamy hollandaise sauce; Irish stew prepared with lamb cheeks, potatoes, leeks, and fresh herbs; a Smoked Salmon Brioche made with poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, and green salad; or Green Fish n’ Chips with a house-made tartar sauce. This menu is only available on March 17 and March 18.

March 20: Macaron Day
Four years ago, famous French pastry chef Pierre Hermé and members of the Association Relais Desserts created the charitable “le Jour du Macaron” (Macaron Day). Four years later, Vancouver is finally joining other cities such as New York and Toronto to celebrate this special day.
On March 20, everyone who visits French Made Baking will receive a free macaron! No purchase necessary but they will be collecting donations for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation throughout the day.
Over in downtown Vancouver, Thierry Chocolaterie Pâtisserie Café will celebrate Macaron Day by donating 10% of all macaron sales made that day to the food-sustainability charity Growing Chefs!
At Soirette, each customer will receive a free macaron and with every purchase of 12-macaron box, guest will receive a free macaron-based dessert, new to Soirette. They will be collecting donations for the Make a Wish Foundation BC & Yukon.
Leonidas Chocolates at the Vancouver Convention Centre West will be selling their macarons at 25%, only $1.50 each. $0.50 will be donated to Ride to Conquer Cancer.

March 26: Taste of Talent Benefit Dinner
Guests of Honor, Chef Michael Stadtlander and Chef Paul Harber will be traveling to Vancouver to support Canada’s exemplary culinary talent. Together with Rosewood Hotel Georgia’s Head Chef, Ken Nakano, taste courses after courses prepared by below culinary teams.

March 26: Howe Sound Beer Dinner at ensemble Tap
On Monday, March 26, commencing at 6pm, Howe Sound’s brewmaster and Chefs MacKay and Hendrickson will honour four extraordinary Howe Sound beers, with modern comfort menu items chosen specifically for their pairing characteristics.
