And the draw is: Parallel 49 Mr. Needles Fir Pale Ale
With Mr. Needles, we have our first repeat from last year’s Craft Crossing advent calendar. That’s pretty impressive, to be honest, and is a great way of pointing out the great diversity we’re seeing in the box this year. Especially compared to year 1.
Mr. Needles is a pale ale brewed with fir trees. Yes, that’s what the description says, and yes, I’m totally imagining Graham & Co shoving a giant tree into the tank. It’s funnier to imagine it that way. But what’s cool about it is it’s definitely not just a gimmick. Well, I mean, it is a gimmick, like most unusual flavours are, but this one is a good gimmick. It legitimately tastes like someone liquified a fir tree into a pale ale. While that may sound bizarre to some, it comes out pretty good.
Totally arbitrary score with holiday reference: 3/5 Christmas Trees
