And the draw is: Red Racer Old School Lager
My first thought on this one was “Meh, Lager”. But if Steel & Oak has taught me anything, it’s that Lager doesn’t necessarily have to be a boring style. So I gave this one the benefit of the doubt, and I’m actually glad I did, because it’s not all that bad.
Old School was brewed in an “Old School” fashion, using ingredients based on 16th century Germany, and then fermented at 8°C. The pour is light gold with a big white head, aroma is light, with some grain. Taste is crisp and a bit more full than the average lager. Has a bit of a grassy, grainy flavour going on, with a touch of malt sweetness in the background. Not a bad lager.
Totally arbitrary score with holiday reference: 2.5/5 Golden Toques
