I recently went on a walking food tour along the West End of Robson Street in Vancouver. That area has always been known as a foodie spot, with a wide variety of restaurants scattered across several blocks. On this tour, we checked out six restaurants, cafes and bubble tea shops on Robson Street, all within walking distance to each other. Here is the list and what I suggest you order, so save this post so you can go on this foodie tour on your own!
Dae Bak Bon Ga, 1323 Robson Street, Vancouver
This Korean BBQ is located on the second floor of the building, so it’s a bit hidden. Not only does Dae Bak Bon Ga have both all-you-can-eat and a la carte options, they also have karaoke! I tried their Extra Large Beef Rib and Pork Belly, and their meat tasted fresh, and I love their banchan (Korean side dishes) selections, too.

Big Way Hot Pot, 1479 Robson Street, Vancouver
This popular build-your-own hot pot place just opened up on the West End before the holidays and this location (only one of the select few) serves up spiked boozy boba drinks! Big Way Hot Pot has 100+ ingredients to choose from, and you can go all out or pick carefully to not go overboard with your bill (you pay by weight). I’ve tried a few of their broths and dry mixes and I recommend the Collagen Bone Broth, Spicy Szechuan Dry Mix or Signature Ma La Tang. You get a free ice cream cone with every meal purchase (and each location offers a different flavour), and they have Happy Hour Mondays-Fridays before 5pm.

Saku, 1588 Robson Street, Vancouver
Recently appeared on CBC’s Dragon’s Den, Saku is famous for their katsu (cutlet). Each katsu set comes with unlimited rice, salad and miso soup. If you want something other than the traditional pork loin katsu, I recommend getting the Zenbu Katsu to share. Their Jumbo Ebi is really jumbo, and plump, making the Ebi Hotate Curry a good option to try, too!

SugarCoat Tanghulu Shop, 1610 Robson Street, Vancouver
Traditionally sugarcoated hawthorn berries (I tried the OG hawthorn berry version in Beijing), here they pour melted sugar or caramel on fresh fruit such as strawberries, grapes and mandarin oranges. SugarCoat Tanghulu is located inside the Robson Public Market.
SWEET7, 1696 Robson Street, Vancouver
SWEET7 is famous for their fresh mango series, and the Signature Mango Pomelo Sago is like a dessert on its own. On this tour, I tried its Strawberry Iced Tea and it’s refreshing. Our drinks were served in their holiday gingerbread bottle so it was really cute (limited time only, so likely they won’t be available for long).

UNNI Pastries, 1773 Robson Street, Vancouver
UNNI Pastries has great pastries and they change their cream puff (they call them Cream Choux) flavours seasonally. On this tour, I grabbed the Passion Mango and Chestnut flavours to go and they’re a delight!
